4. It doesn’t matter if your family and friends and family like the person you’re dating. You understand him or her, and your opinion is the only one that matters.

This is especially false in the Jewish culture. The opinion of family, friends and the synagogue are all very important. If your potential spouse does not get along with the most important people in your life, how does your relationship have hope of long-term survival?
